Wedding shuttles

Do I need a visa?
With a passport from an EU country (except Cyprus), the UK, Canada or the US, you don't need a visa for the wedding. Stays of up to 90 days are visa-free, two months with a Bulgarian passport and four months with a German or Canadian one.
If you have a Venezuelan passport, you need a visa. Apply before you travel at the Tunisian embassy for the country where you live (for Venezuela, that's the embassy in Brasília), and start early: it can take weeks.
With any other passport, ask the Tunisian embassy or consulate in your country early, in case you need a visa.
Entry rules checked on 5 November 2026. They can change, so check again before you book.

Traditional Tunisian attire
For men, the jebba: a long, sleeveless tunic worn over a shirt, often with an embroidered waistcoat (farmla) and loose trousers (seroual). The red felt cap is the chechia, and the leather slippers are balgha.
For women, a Tunisian jebba or a caftan, both often richly embroidered. The fouta and blouza, a wrapped skirt with an embroidered blouse, is another traditional choice for wedding celebrations.
Where to buy it
In the souks of the Medina of Tunis. Souk Et-Trouk, the old tailors' souk, sells jebbas, waistcoats and trousers. Souk Ech-Chaouachine makes the chechia, and Souk El Blaghgia the balgha. Embroidered dresses and caftans are sold in the shops around them.

Tunisia tips
Money
The Tunisian dinar (TND) can't be bought outside Tunisia. Change money or use an ATM when you land, and keep your exchange receipts: you need them to change dinars back, and dinars can't be taken out of the country. Cards work in hotels and larger restaurants; carry some cash for taxis and markets.
Plugs
Sockets are types C and E, 230 V. European plugs fit; UK and North American plugs need an adapter.
Language
Arabic and French are spoken everywhere, and English in hotels and many restaurants.
Checked on 26 October 2026.
